Lord Ashbourne graduated from the University of Oxford as a chemist, joining Cazenove in the early 1990s. After brief stints working in pharmaceuticals and oils he settled down as Cazenove’s mining analyst, spending three years in Johannesburg, among other places. He moved to T Hoare Canaccord in 1999 as a specialist mining salesman and also worked for two years as Cluff Mining’s mineral economist, responsible for global target asset valuations. In 2003 he moved to New York, where he developed and marketed a ‘black box’ model for valuing large-cap equities, before returning to join Edison in 2007. He has extensive media experience, having written for MoneyWeek, The Business, Shares, Investors Chronicle and The Evening Standard (among others), presented on LBC and been a guest on BBC One and BBC World.

He is the author of “Shades of the 1970s”, a gold report available on Edison’s website.

Dart Mining NL (ASX:DTM) is an Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) listed minerals exploration company. It was listed in May 2007.

The company’s exploration portfolio consists of granted Exploration Leases (EL’s) and Mining Leases (ML’s) on the East Coast of Australia.

Within the company’s 7,000 sq km tenements areas there are extensive, anomalous, metals deposits including Porphyry style deposits, Historic Goldfields, and the largest hard rock lithium project on the East Coast of Australia.

The company’s two current focus projects are the Rushworth Gold project and the Dorchap Lithium project.

In July 2022 the company entered into a Farm-in, Joint Venture agreement with global Lithium company and NYSE listed, Sociedad Química y Minera de Chile S.A. (SQM)
SQM are currently sole funding all exploration activities on the Dorchap Lithium project.
Additional significant projects 100% owned by Dart Mining include Mt Unicorn (Molybdenum, Copper, Silver) which has a declared JORC resource of 209 Million Tonnes Indicated and Inferred Molybdenum.

Within the tenement areas are also nine historic Goldfields in Central and Northeast Victoria which were mined during the 19th century Gold Rush.

The company is presently focussed on Gold and Lithium exploration as of February 2024 and expects to drill ~8,000 metres in calendar 2024.

Mr. James Chirnside is Executive Chairman of ASX listed exploration company Dart Mining NL and has been professionally engaged in financial, energy, mining, and commodity markets for the past forty years. Mr. Chirnside’s experience includes commodity trading, fund management, corporate finance, as well as operational management, across a range of sectors within the mining industry and financial markets. Mr. Chirnside lives in Sydney, Australia.
