Andrea Mica

Andrea Mica has been a director of Oxford Technology Management since 2012 when the OTSEIS fund was launched. Before that he made investments for the Royal Society Fund and IP Group and has been involved in startups since 2000.
An engineer by training he has increasingly been involved in life science investments and was on the board of Ducentis when it made its £400m headline figure exit in 2022. OTSEIS had made the founding investment into Ducentis in 2015 at a valuation of £200,000. Although the headline figure is composed primarily payments for milestone which may never be achieved, it is an indicator of what may be achieved by making early investments into science and technology companies and supporting them through their growth. However there can be losses too, so a portfolio approach in recommended.
